Week Commencing Monday 23rd April 2012

The Police are investigating two reports of robbery which took place over the weekend in the  South side of the island.

The first incident took place around 10:30pm on Friday, at Willoughby Bay, where a woman reported that just as she got home and was exiting her vehicle, a masked man armed with a knife, held her at knife point and demanded she hand over her money. He then took her inside her house where his other two accomplices were, also armed with a gun and a knife. They robbed the woman of her apple Ipad, one computer, six bottles of wine, her Nokia cellular phone, and an undisclosed amount of money. The description of the men was as follows; one is said to be about 5ft 10 inches, in height, while the other two are said to be shorter. One was dressed in a pair of jeans, while the other wearing a red sweater. They are all slimly built. The vehicle was later recovered in the Red Hill area.

In the second incident, a couple residing at Turtle Bay reported that they were robbed by three masked men armed with knives and gun. The alleged incident took place shortly after 3am on Saturday, while he couple were asleep at home. It is reported that man was awaken by a noise inside the house, and the glare of torchlights in their faces. They then realized that three men were inside their house, one armed with a gun while the other two had knives. They then robbed the couple of two pairs of diamond and sapphire earrings, the keys to their Land Rover Jeep, and an undisclosed amount of money, before locking them away in a room. The men fled the scene in the vehicle which was later recovered by the police at Falmouth Cricket Grounds.
